YOUR CIVIL MARRIAGE CELEBRANT
Renewal of Vows is chosen by couples when approaching a significant anniversary or after enduring an 'ebb' phase of their relationship.
Symbolism and readings help to create a romantic and loving day. It is not a legal ceremony and adaptations to vows and wording must be made to reflect the true nature of the ceremony.
Perhaps newly weds due to circumstances beyond their control weren't able to have the wedding ceremony they desired. A second ceremony provides them with the chance to say what may have been missing on their wedding day.
Commitment Ceremony – make a commitment of your love without having a legal ceremony. Perfect for newly engaged couples or couples not wanting to marry.
Same Sex Ceremony – although not a legal ceremony, this is a ceremony where two people express their love, commitment and devotion for one another.
Other Milestones in Life – whatever the reason I am happy to work with you to develop a ceremony to suit your requirements. A few examples would be an engagement, a new business venture, retiring, going on that special holiday, a special anniversary, graduation, special birthday, separation or divorce to name but a few.
Fees
My basic fee for these ceremonies is $250.00 half of which is payable as a non refundable deposit when the ceremony is booked. The other half is payable in full 2 weeks prior to the ceremony being held.
Legality
None of the above ceremonies are legally binding and do not have legal status, however you will be presented with a copy of your ceremony and a commemorative certificate as a remembrance of the day.
Naming ceremonies are secular (non-religious) ceremonies. During the ceremony the parents state their love and commitment to their child and declare hopes for their future. This is followed by the naming of the child and the parents' promise and promises of the supporting adults to pledge love and support for the child's future.
Rather than godparents, whose traditional role is to help guide the child in a Christian life, 'supporting adults', 'guardians’ or 'mentors' (who may be friends or family) will declare that they will be there for the child as he or she grows up and throughout their life in whatever way is needed.
